JAMMU, May 4: A delegation of Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduates Association (NGAGA) led by its president Pardeep Sharma today met Director Agriculture, Jammu and apprised him of the problem of long term stagnation of more than 28 years among all the cadre in general and Junior Agricultural Extensio Officers (JAEOs) in particular.
The delegation elaborated that stagnation has virtually weakened the working efficiency of the cadre. It was also highlighted than more than 100 posts of AEO and equivalent are lying vacant in the department in Jammu province, which needs to be filled from the feeding cadres of eligible Junior AEOs immediately as an instant corrective measure to restore the energy of the cadre.
The delegation suggested the Director curative and preventive measures for strengthening the department and Agricultute Extension services.
The Director assured the delegation that effective steps will be taken very shortly to redress their problems including the elevation of junior AEOs to the next higher level post.
