KISHTWAR, Sept 2: In a shocking incident here today, a newly married lady from Doda was allegedly murdered by her husband.

The accused Amir Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Sangrambhata, Kishtwar has been arrested.
Locals informed that Amir was married to Yasmeena Begum of Doda on August 17, 2025 and last night due to some reason he stabbed his wife multiple times with a sharp edged weapon and after hearing the cries of the lady the family members rushed towards their room and found Yasmeena lying in a pool of blood.
Police was informed immediately and on reaching the spot cops shifted the lady to district hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
The accused Amir was arrested.
After getting information regarding murder of their daughter, parents and relatives of Yasmeena reached from Doda and demanded strict action against Amir and his family members.
They even refused to take the dead body but after the intervention and assurance by the local MLA Shagun Parihar, the family took the body to Doda.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar in this regard and investigations started.
