JAMMU, Jan 24: The newly elected team of the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu (J&K HC BAJ), led by president K Nirmal Kotwal, today met Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for the PMO.
During the meeting, the team comprising Vice-President Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan, and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal presented a charter of demands and highlighted various issues concerning the advocates.
As per a statement, Dr Jitendra Singh listened attentively to their concerns and assured full support and cooperation.
The key demands raised by the Association included upgradation of the infrastructure of the Central Administrative Tribunal, including the construction of a multi-storey building at the High Court complex in Jammu, appointment of senior advocates as members of the CAT, appointment of young lawyers as the standing counsels for Central Government Departments and autonomous bodies etc.
The Bar Association expressed gratitude to Dr Jitendra Singh for his time and assuring that their concerns would be addressed.
