JAMMU, July 18: A newborn child was found floating in canal in Miran Sahib area today.
Locals spotted the body of a newborn child near Dak Bungalow, Miran Sahib around 7: 30 PM and accordingly informed the police, a police official said.
Accordingly, he said, a team from Miran Sahib Police Station reached at the spot and shifted the body to a hospital in RS Pura area, where the post-mortem would be conducted tomorrow.
In the meantime, he said, police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and initiated further investigation into the matter.
