New RDD Director reviews ongoing works, issues key directives

JAMMU, June 11: Newly appointed Director of the Rural Development Department (RDD), Jammu, Shehnaz Choudhary today held a detailed meeting with the staff of the Directorate to review the status of ongoing developmental works and schemes across the region.
During the interaction, Shehnaz Choudhary took a comprehensive overview of the current projects and sought updates from officials on the implementation of key rural initiatives, including MGNREGA, PMAY (Gramin), 14th Finance Commission grants, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
She called for strict adherence to project timelines and underscored the need for transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the execution of all works. Emphasizing field-level monitoring, she directed officials to ensure quality outcomes and proper fund utilization at every stage of implementation.
The Director also stressed the importance of timely redressal of public grievances and urged the staff to strengthen their coordination with Panchayati Raj Institutions for better grassroots governance. She encouraged the officials to adopt a proactive approach in addressing rural challenges and improving service delivery.
Shehnaz Choudhary assured her full support to the departmental team and urged them to maintain a people-centric approach in all activities. The session concluded with officials briefing her on departmental priorities and key targets for the coming months.
