RAJOURI, Sept 8: In a major step towards strengthening community involvement and preserving the legacy of Shree Guru Ravidass Ji, a new committee of the Shree Guru Ravidass Sabha District Rajouri and Tehsil Nowshera-Sunderbani was constituted at Shri Guru Ravidass Temple, Chowki Handan, in Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri.
As per a handout issued, the elections were conducted in a free and transparent manner by the District Guru Ravidass Election Committee, with enthusiastic participation from across the region. The entire community stood united and elected new office bearers with consensus.
A.D. Kewal Krishan was unanimously elected as District President Rajouri, while Onkar Syal was elected as Organiser and Gautam Heer as Vice President. Advocate Tarun Vasson was chosen as General Secretary. Bansi Lal and Amit Syal were nominated as Advisors.
For Nowshera-Sunderbani Tehsils, Harjeet Samayal was elected as President, Ashu Chandan as Vice-President, Mohinder Lal as General Secretary and Darinder Heer as Advisor. Tilak Raj was elected as Chairman, District Rajouri.
Despite continuous heavy rainfall, hundreds of community members gathered in a strong show of unity and commitment towards social progress. A total of 31 active Guru Ravidass Sabhas members participated in the election process.
