JAMMU : A new batch of 1,280 pilgrims today left for the holy Shri Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar base camp in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A batch comprising 934 males, 238 females, 12 children and 96 sadhus left for the cave shrine in a convoy of 42 vehicles including 31 private and State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses and 11 light motor vehicles,” official spokesperson here said.
He said the first bus left at around 0445 hrs and the last bus at 0500 hrs.
