JAMMU, Apr 1: A Dogri poetry book of lyrics, penned by Joginder Singh Pardesi, was released here today by Nami Dogri Sanstha.
Om Vidyarathi, retired IFS and Sahitya Academy Awardee, presided over the function, whereas Shaminder Kumar, former Director Radio Jalandhar, was the chief guest. Shalinder Singh, Sahitya Academy awardee and SSP Railways, was the guests of honour. Manisha Sharma and Bachan Bhagat, both Assistant Directors Radio Jammu, were the special guests. Prithvi Raj Sharma, famous music composer of Duggar was special invitee on the occasion.
Prof .Anupama Sharma, Patron NDS and famous singer of Jammu and Kashmir and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS also shared the dais. Yash Pal Yash, general secretary NDS, conducted the proceedings.
At the outset, Capt.Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS, spoke on the book and said that the poetry of J S Pardesi has the tinge and reflections of the English poetry of William Wordsworth.
Om Vidyarathi described the book a master piece in Dogri poetry and a motivational writing for the young poets.
Shaminder Kumar said that a passionate approach in must to save Dogri language and Duggar Culture and mere formalities will not work .
Shalinder Singh lauded the poetic contents of the book and described the poetry a significant milestone in Dogri poetry coupled with rich Dogri vocabulary.
Madhvi Sharma, famous Radio announcer, Bachan Bhagat and Manisha Sharma also spoke on the occasion.Dr Radha Rani read a comprehensive paper on the book.
On the occasion, Joginder Singh Pardesi was honoured by NDS, which conferred upon him the Sanstha Sammaan “Duggar Di Awaaz” . The released compilation has one hundred and seven poems.
Kulbhushan Singh Jamwal and other prominent personalities of Duggar attended the function. Dr Chanchal Sharma presented vote of thanks.
