NDS organises ‘Ikk Malatti’ with Pt Prithvi Raaj

JAMMU, Oct 10: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) in a programme titled ‘Ikk Malatti’ held an interactive session with Pt. Prithvi Raaj Sharma-veteran Music Composer of J&K.
His Music Compositions were also sung on the occasion by eminent singers Prof. Suraj Singh and Prof. Anupama Sharma along with Amit Anand and Vijay Anand on Dholak and Tabla respectively.
Padam Shree Jatinder Udhampuri, former Director AIR and Sahitya Academy Awardee presided over the function whereas Nidhi Dogra Sharma, Patron Dogra Samaaj Trust Mumbai was chief guest.
Prof. Nirmal Vinod, an eminent Poet and Writer of Dogri and Hindi and Sahitya Academy Awardee was guest of honour.
Captain Lalit Sharma, convener NDS, Prof. Anupama Sharma, patron NDS, Dogra Harish Kaila, president NDS and Pandit Prithvi Raaj Sharma shared the dais along with dignitaries.
Yash Pal Yash, general secretary NDS conducted the programme.
Captain Lalit Sharma read a paper on the life and works of Pt. Prithvi Raaj Sharma, who despite being of 86 years of age is still vibrant and energetic contributing to the field of music.
NDS honoured him with ‘Sahitya Shree’ in which a shawl, memento and a citation were presented to him.
A young Jammu based Music Composer and Singer, Kanish Sharma contributing Music in Bollywood Films and advertisements also attended the function and performed there.
Prithvi Raaj Sharma while speaking on the occasion demanded a separate Duggar Channel for promotion of local language, art and culture and the demand was seconded by all those present on the occasion.
