JAMMU, Jan 1: Special Judge NDPS Court Sunil Sangra today rejected the pre-arrest bail application of one Zarina Akhtar, wife of Abdual Rehman of Haveli, who was allegedly involved in heroin smuggling case.
After hearing APP Riyaz Ahmed along with IO DySP East Sheezan Bhat for the prosecution, the court observed, “the accused person does not deserve concession of anticipatory bail as per the allegations reported against her”.
“To grant anticipatory bail in a case of this nature is not really warranted. This court is of the opinion that custodial interrogation of the petitioner ought not to be denied to the investigating authority. Therefore, I find no good and sufficient grounds for enlargement of the petitioner on anticipatory bail and order dated 09.11.2024 of this court whereby petitioner admitted on interim anticipatory bail is hereby recalled”, Special Judge said.
