NDPI demands statehood for Jammu region

JAMMU, June 7: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) J&K unit president Rajesh Gupta today demanded the Central Government to make Jammu a separate state.
In a statement issued today, Gupta said people of Jammu region have been facing discrimination in every sector for last more than 73 years by the successive State Government.
The NDPI chief said that nationalist people of Jammu kept on suffering, with colossal discrimination in terms of Government jobs, development of tourism, industries, infrastructure, road network and development of rural and border areas.
Gupta maintained, successive Governments at center, continued with their appeasement policies, towards Kashmir centric politics and divide between Jammu and Kashmir regions kept on growing bigger and bigger, in terms of exploitation.
