NDA has no solid policy on Kashmir, towards Pakistan: Balbir Singh

Excelsior Correspondent
KATHUA, May 28: Cong-ress leader and MLC, Th Balbir Singh today said that the NDA Government has not any solid policy to deal with Kashmir issue and with Pakistan as situation within Kashmir as well as on borders is taking ugly shape day by day.
While addressing a public rally at Bajwalta in Billawer tehsil of Kathua district, he said now the youth are openly joining the militancy which is matter of serious concerns for the people of the State. Both the PDP-BJP coalition who were North pole and South pole joined the hands and ruined the State of Jammu and Kashmir.  Now the militants don’t care for ceasefire declared by Chief Minister during the Ramzan. There is no change in the ground situation of Kashmir, he added.
He said that it was the regime of UPA under the leadership of Manmohan Singh when the militancy was under control and Kashmir was on the path of peace and normalcy. Now the Hurriyat leader dares to refuse the proposal of Home Minister.  He said only the Congress party under the leadership of UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Congress president, Rahul Gandhi can bring peace in Kashmir. The people of country have shown their trust in Congress and time will come when Congress will get its majority in J&K State and people get relief from violence and destruction, he added.
The border people are also living in pitiable conditions and there seems to be no Government working on the ground to rehabilitate them said Congress MLC.
While talking about the Pakistan firing on the borders, he alleged that the Pakistani Rangers have targeted civilian areas of Jammu province on LoC and on International Border. More than one lakh people were forced to migrate to safer place which shows the failure of present Government to tackle the issue of cross border terrorism.  The promises of five marlas of plots and concrete bunkers are hollow slogans and nothing has been seen on the ground. The BJP leaders and ministers are now facing resentment of people every day due to their failure to mitigate the sufferings of masses.
On the occasion district president, Pankaj Dogra, EX MLA, Girdhari Lal Chalotra ,  advocate, Pankaj Basotra, Paramjit  Singh  block president of Kathua district also spoke.
