JAMMU, Aug 8: Aimed towards fostering leadership, patriotism and awareness about the armed forces among youth, a contingent of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from 1 J&K Air Sqn NCC, Udhampur today visited the Air Force Station Udhampur.
The visit was organized to provide cadets with firsthand exposure to the working environment, values and ethos of the Indian Armed Forces, with special emphasis on the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The day commenced with an introductory briefing session conducted by senior IAF officials, who provided an overview of the Indian Air Force’s organisational structure, operational roles, achievements and technological advancements.
Cadets were also shown an informative documentary that highlighted the Air Force’s role in safeguarding national sovereignty, undertaking humanitarian missions and executing disaster relief operations both in India and abroad.
The cadets witnessed the frontline Fighter aircraft and Helicopters, aircraft maintenance bays, radar and surveillance units and communication systems.
A major attraction was the interaction session with serving officers and pilots, during which the cadets asked a range of questions related to career prospects in the IAF, life in uniform, challenges during missions and training procedures at premier institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA), Air Force Academy and others.
The officers shared motivational stories from real-life operations and encouraged cadets to cultivate discipline, resilience and a spirit of service.
The Commanding Officer of the unit Wing Commander Nitin Yadav emphasized on the importance of such visits in shaping the minds of young future leaders.
