NCC Army Attachment Camp concludes at Somgarh Military Station

SRINAGAR, Oct 19: A twelve-day Army Attachment Camp for NCC cadets concluded on October 17 at Somgarh Military Station (Old Air Field) in Srinagar.
The camp was organised under the aegis of the Chinar Corps and Chinar Air Defence Brigade, and coordinated by the 9 J&K Girls Battalion, Srinagar, part of the JK&L Directorate.
A total of 117 NCC cadets, both boys and girls from various institutions across Jammu and Kashmir, took part in the camp.
The aim was to provide them first-hand experience of the Army’s professional life, discipline, and training standards while nurturing leadership, teamwork and a sense of national pride.
During the camp, cadets underwent diverse training activities and witnessed demonstrations of modern military equipment.
They also attended interactive sessions on leadership, life-saving techniques, and career opportunities in the Armed Forces. Visits to the Drone Lab and 3D Printing Lab were among the highlights.
The co-educational training fostered mutual respect and coordination among participants.
Cadets also took part in physical training, drill, sports, and cultural events, displaying high levels of enthusiasm and discipline.
The closing ceremony featured a colourful cultural programme attended by senior Army officers and families of the Old Air Field Station. During the prize distribution ceremony, medals and awards were presented to cadets who excelled in various events.
The camp concluded with cadets expressing renewed motivation, deeper understanding of Army life, and commitment to contribute towards nation-building.
