NC terms Jugal’s statement as signs of desperation

JAMMU, Dec 11: Expressing surprise over frivolous charges levelled by BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma against National Conference (NC) workers of Nagrota, block president Rameshwar Dutt Sharma described these as signs of desperation ahead of imminent defeat of his brother Nand Kishore Sharma.
“Seeing writing on wall, the BJP leadership, in a fit of frustration, has resorted to their traditional weapon of smear campaign in order to save their faces”, Dutt said in a statement while reacting to the allegations of Jugal Kishore Sharma made at a press conference.
Dutt said that tragedy with Sharma brothers is that they have been abandoned even by their own cadre in the constituency for the non performance of Jugal Kishore Sharma during the past twelve years. The frustration is not new, it has been brewing ever since the constituency witnessed a turnaround in its developmental profile because of the efforts made by NC candidate Devender Singh Rana during the past seven years. In his capacity as Member Legislative Council, Rana has changed the scenario with service sectors and utility services getting impetus, he added.
Dutt said Nagrota Assembly constituency is witnessing a wave in favour of NC candidate Devender Singh Rana and ever surging crowds in his election meetings has  unnerved Sharma Brothers. “The baseless and frivolous charges are just the manifestation of their frustration”, he stated.
He advised the BJP leadership to restrain from indulging in accusations, as these have potential to vitiate the democratic atmosphere across the constituency.
He said National Conference is a party of disciplined cadre which has all along strived to promote democratic spirit.  “History stands testimony to the sacrifices made by NC from time to time to ensure that democracy flourishes in Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
