JAMMU, May 29: Reaffirming the National Conference’s core values of democracy, development, and dignity for all, Provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta today said that the party continues to gain strength under the visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah. He emphasized that the National Conference (NC) is emerging as a powerful political force, committed to inclusive growth and social harmony across Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta was speaking at a well-attended event at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu, where senior BJP leader Kuldeep Raj Sharma from Block Bhalwal in the Nagrota Constituency formally joined the NC. The induction marks a notable shift in the region’s political landscape and underscores the NC’s growing appeal among both leaders and the public.
Welcoming Sharma into the party fold, Rattan Lal Gupta said, “The entry of senior leaders like Kuldeep Raj Sharma into our party reflects the deepening trust in the NC’s vision for an inclusive and progressive J&K. It is a clear indicator of the political tide turning in favor of truth, unity and development.”
Lashing out at the BJP, Gupta accused the party of delivering “a decade of divisive, deceptive, and directionless politics” that led to soaring unemployment, inflation and growing disillusionment among the youth. “The BJP’s tenure has been marked by broken promises and hollow gimmickry,” he added.
Gupta strongly reaffirmed NC’s steadfast commitment to secularism, peace, and equitable development that benefits every region and every segment of society within the Union Territory. “Our goal is to build a prosperous, united, and resilient J&K for present and future generations,” he said.
The event was attended by several senior party functionaries including Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Pardeep Bali, Vijay Lochan, Rakesh Singh Raka, Laxmi Datta, Shamim Begum, Joginder Singh Kaku, Pooja Jaggi, Saif Ali Nambardar, Rajinder Singh, Balwan Singh, Madan Mohan Sharma, Chaman Lal, Joginder Sharma, Raj Kumar, Sham Lal, Sukh Dev Singh (Kaka), Ramesh Chander, Behari Lal and Naseem Chand.
