NC set to emerge as force to reckon with: Tsestan Namgyal

LEH, May 11:  Exuding confidence that National Conference will emerge as a force to reckon with at the strength of its inclusiveness, senior leader and former minister, Tsetan Namgyal on Wednesday said that divisive politics has no place in Jammu and Kashmir.
“National Conference has all along strived for equal opportunities of progress and development to all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and therefore there is need to strengthen the party for meeting challenges to the state”, Mr Namgyal said while welcoming new entrants in the party fold.
The function was presided over by president of the Leh unit of National Conference, Sonam Wangdus Lachumir, who profusely greeted the new entrants from Changthang, Nobra and Leh areas.
Mr Namgyal said National Conference has all along provided a huge space to youth, which is why it is still known as a youth movement that has withstood test of times with fortitude. “Now that the State is at the cross roads of history with self seekers and anti-people elements presiding over its destiny, the youth have to change the discourse”, he maintained.
The former minister described youth as trend setters, adding that they can help in cleansing degenerated political atmosphere by bringing much needed change.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonam Wangdus Lachumir, district president, expressed hope that the new entrants work to strengthen the party and carry forward the mission of making Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh vibrant units of the State. He said that J&K National Conference has rendered innumerable sacrifices to protect the unity and integrity of the State.
Wangchuk Lardak, district secretary also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among those, present on the occasion,  included Nazir Ahmed Khan, Thinless Boto, Ghulam Hyder , Tsing Mutop,  Wangchuk Lardak, Nisar Hussain, Mohd Usman Chonjor, Phunchok Tashi, Mohd Baqir Cho, Skarma Namdok, Tsering Sangdop, Tashi Tundop and others.
