SRINAGAR, July 20: Tanvir Sadiq, chief spokesperson of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference and MLA from Zadibal, emphasized the urgent need for internal reconciliation and structured dialogue between India and Pakistan at a peace and dialogue conference held today at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
The event was organized by the Centre for Peace and Progress (CPP) and brought together key voices advocating for regional stability.
In his address, Sadiq stressed that any sustainable external peace initiative between India and Pakistan must first be rooted in internal harmony within Jammu and Kashmir.
“The National Conference has always stood for peace, dignity and the constitutional rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. But for any meaningful external dialogue to succeed, there must be a foundation of internal peace and understanding within the region,” he said.
Reaffirming the party’s long-standing commitment to democratic processes, Sadiq urged both India and Pakistan to show political will and maturity in resolving their differences through dialogue rather than conflict.
“Dialogue is not a sign of weakness. It’s a reflection of democratic strength and political maturity,” he added.
