DODA, Sept 6: Taking a dig on some vested political leaders including non -political organizations of the State who wanted division of the J&K State for their personal interest, former minister and senior NC leader Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy has said that his party will not allow the split of the State.
“We will not allow such vested persons to succeed in their nefarious designs to split the State. We want to restore only peace with dignity not splitting up of J&K state,” Mr Suhrawardy said in press statement today.
He further said, ” Our aim is to first restore peace in Kashmir valley so that killings of innocent people should end. The vested persons who are looking division of Jammu and Kashmir are taking the advantage of Kashmir unrest but NC will not allow them to succeed in their nefarious designs and will fight tooth and nail.”
“National Conference leadership is still struggling in maintaining brotherhood, communal harmony in the State keeping in view of caste, creed and religion without thinking about the division of the J&K,” he added.
He said at present NC leadership wants only restoration of peace in Kashmir valley and Omar Abdullah had taken a very bold initiative to take up the matter of Kashmir unrest with Central leadership, due to which the All Party delegation has visited the State.
The NC leader made it clear that Indian Parliament has played its role in 1947-48 in granting the 1953 position in the constitution and Delhi Agreement of 1952 based on the instrument of accession of the then J&K Maharaja Hari Singh.
He said the present Coalition Government in the State has miserably failed on all fronts and it mishandled the situation in the Valley which has caused colossal human loss and sufferings to the entire population.
