JAMMU, Dec 10: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while strongly criticizing the political parties including National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demanding restoration of controversial Articles 370 and 35-A, today said no Government can restore controversial Articles which nurtured secessionist forces for decades together.
In a statement issued here, today Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC accused both NC and PDP leadership of misleading the people with such statements. He expressed confidence over the recent statement of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah who ruled out grant of Statehood to J&K prior to Assembly elections and said that J&K needs to remain as UT till the terrorism is completely weeded out and total peace is restored in the UT.
Kashmiri, while highlighting the problems of displaced Pandits said the Government should now take initiative for their rehabilitation in the separate State within Valley with all institutional and constitutional guarantees. He said forcing the community to return to its ancestral places in Valley will prove suicidal as majority community of Kashmir had already rejected the composite culture which the Pandits had nurtured for centuries.
Kashmiri also expressed concern over the denial of promotions to migrant employees and termed it a great injustice with them. He urged the Lt Governor to look into the matter and ensure justice to these hapless employees. He also demanded security for all minorities including PM package employees in Valley, besides intensifying work on the transit accommodations.
Kashmiri urged the Central Government that no return formula should be put into action without discussing it with KP representatives.
