NC, PDP abandoned political ideologies for personal gain: Bali

JAMMU, July 21: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat made a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders for their misleading statements, aiming to deceive the public and salvage their failing political endeavors.
Having once supported the ideology of the BJP and forming alliances with the party to secure positions of power, Bali Bhagat said these parties have conveniently abandoned their political ideologies. However, it is important to note that their association with the BJP was solely for gaining power, potentially at the expense of their own principles.
Bali Bhagat strongly believed that these leaders have lost touch with the ground realities and have completely sidelined the genuine concerns of the people. Their focus remains solely on preserving their own interests, even if it means they joined hands with their staunch opponents. A prime example of this opportunism can be seen in the formation of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), which was purely aimed at self-preservation rather than serving the people, he added.
“The NC and PDP leaders once staunch opponents in the Valley but now they came under the banner of PAGD. Regrettably, as soon as these leaders lost their grip on power, they wasted no time in publicly criticizing the very party with which they had previously partnered to come into power. Such opportunistic actions deserve scrutiny, as they are clearly more motivated by personal aspirations than by the welfare of the general public,” he said.
The former Minister asserted that BJP is a party that upholds its commitments and remains dedicated to the welfare of the nation. As the single largest party in the country, the BJP has successfully fulfilled many of the promises made to the people prior to the elections. This includes the historic abrogation of Article 370, which has brought about a positive transformation in Jammu and Kashmir, and the construction of the Ram Mandir, a long-standing demand of millions of devotees across the country.
