JAMMU, Apr 9: In a strong push to position Jammu as a vibrant destination on the national tourism map, Provincial president of J&K National Conference for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today highlighted the proactive efforts of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah led Government, to upgrade and expand critical facilities across the region.
Addressing a meeting of Block No. 3 of Jammu South today, Gupta underscored the Government’s commitment to transforming Jammu into a hub of cultural and tourism significance. The meeting was convened by Block president Gandhi Nagar, Parvinder Singh and presided over by District head Jammu Urban, Chander Mohan Sharma.
On the occasion, a new team of office bearers was announced and warmly felicitated. Speaking to the gathering, Gupta drew attention to the long-standing concerns of migrants from POK, stating that they have for decades been burdened with unfulfilled promises that existed only on papers.
Reflecting public sentiment, he noted growing disappointment with previous assurances, highlighting the gap between commitments made and benefits delivered. Gupta asked the Centre for releasing balanced amount of one time settlement, as promised with the migrants.
Gupta asserted that the Omar Abdullah Government is taking sincere and result oriented steps, to ensure justice, dignity, and improved living standards for migrant communities. “This government believes in action, not rhetoric. Our aim is to restore trust and deliver what has long been denied,” Gupta asserted.
