UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: District Unit of National Conference has demanded immediate release of NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah , vice president Omar Abdullah and the party general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar, who have been jailed since August 5.
The demanded was raised during a meeting of NC District unit Udhampur, held under the chairmanship of District president Sunil Verma who expressed strong resentment over the detention of NC leaders. He recalled the sacrifices made by the NC leaders for making J&K an integral part of India and said that 15000 NC workers have sacrificed their lives while fighting against the ongoing militancy in the State.
A resolution seeking immediate release of NC leaders was passed in the meeting, which was attended by Advocate K D Sharma, Pt Hari Gopal Sharma, Manmohan Verma, Ch Khalil Mohd, Naresh Anthal, V D Surishta, Gulam Rasool Mushtaq, Adv Vikrant Sharma, John Wilson, Ravi Kumar and others.
