KARGIL, Nov 14: NC Councillor from Thangdumbur Sankoo constituency Advocate Ashiq Ali Firdous has resigned from the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil.
“Advocate Ashiq Ali Firdous, sitting Councillor from Thangdumbur Sankoo constituency, has submitted his resignation to the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of LAHDC Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today, hours before leaving for Leh,” reports said.
Ashiq Ali was the National Conference candidate from Thangdumbur Sankoo constituency, the elections to which were held last month.
He had won the LAHDC Kargil election with an impressive margin of 1124 votes and had polled 1643 votes against 519 of BJP’s Mohammad Ali.
