JAMMU, Apr 13: BJP candidate for Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha seat, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that, how much the Congress and NC leadership may try, they will not be able to stop the tornado of Modi wave.
Addressing an election meeting at Paddar in Kishtwar district today, Dr Jitendra Singh warned the Cong-NC coalition against trying any mischief on the eve of election and said he has already reported to the Election Commission that the State police and administrative machinery is deliberately harassing the VDCs by putting them on election duty outside their native places so that they may not be able to vote on the day of polling on April 17.
He said, the BJP will not allow such designs to succeed and added that the returning officer has also been informed in writing that the polling stations in areas like Gool, Mahore, Inderwal and Banihal where the ruling party is planning rigging and bogus voting should be placed under the control of CRP, administrative staff from other States and CCTV surveillance.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the area of Paddar is suffering from perpetual neglect and added that BJP is committed to remove regional discrimination in the State. He alleged that instead of devoting time for the development of the area, the Congress and National Conference leaders had been spending most of their time in paying obeisance to Gandhi family in New Delhi and Abdullah family in Srinagar.
When Narendra Modi Government takes over as Prime Minister in New Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, it will devise a mechanism to ensure equitable distribution of resources to each region. This will also remove the long-standing grievance that far -flung areas have always been discriminated against, he added.
Referring to poor road connectivity in the area, Dr Jitendra Singh accused the Congress Governments at the Center as well as in the State of having failed to properly implement the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) started during the Vajpayee regime.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the BJP Government in New Delhi will also ensure that the hydro-electric projects in and around Kishtwar, which have been set up with central intervention, will provide an exclusive major share of jobs for the local youth and earmark a substantial share of power for local consumption.
Sunil Sharma, senior BJP leader and Farooq Khan (IPS) also spoke on the occasion and appealed for a vote in support of Dr Jitendra Singh.
Earlier, Dr Jitendra Singh, traveled by road to Paddar where he was received by an unprecedented crowd of several thousand people enthusiastically waiting to give him a rousing welcome.
