NC alone can safeguard interests of State as per urges of people: Rather

BANDIPORA, Nov 23: Senior NC leader and the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather has cautioned the people about the conspiracies being hatched to usurp the rights of the people of the State, adding that NC is a vibrant public movement which alone can safeguard the interests of the State as per the urges and aspirations of its people.
Addressing a mammoth public gathering at Bandipora in Charar-i-Sharief Constituency, Rather said NC has a track record of supreme sacrifices for the cause of people and has never compromised on the interests of the State.
“NC has a clear vision about a prosperous and self reliant welfare State enshrined in the Naya Kashmir document conceived by the great leader, Sher-i-Kashmir, late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.”, he said, adding NC has strived to protect the special position of the State.
Rather asserted that nobody will be allowed to tamper with the special position granted to the State under Article 370 of the Constitution of India. He said abrogation of Article 370 is constitutionally impossible adding that fiddling with it shall have dangerous consequences.
The Minister asserted that Autonomy has remained the heart beat of the people of the State and NC will not rest till it is restored in its pristine form.
Listing some landmark achievements of the Omar Abdullah led coalition Government, he said historical laws of public importance like RTI, PSGA and regularization of contractual and adhoc employees Act were passed in the State legislature during this period.
He appealed the people to cast their vote in favour of NC candidates in the forthcoming Assembly elections for a decisive mandate to ensure lasting peace, faster development and economic self reliance.
