JAMMU, Aug 31: A comedy play Chup Kar was staged by Nav Durga Kala Manch at Abhinav Theatre here today which kept the audience spell bound.
Written by Shazi Khan and directed by Aaditya Bhanu, the play is based on the family of Nawab Kamal Khan. The play was performed with the financial assistance of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages Jammu and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn who presided over the as chief guest appreciated the efforts of the team for such a beautiful presentation.
The focus of play was that a man can go to any extent and do anything for his own sake and to fulfill his needs. The play starts with the Nawab who often forgets his clothes in the house of his neighbour Mirza where he flirt with Mirza’s wife.
When Mirza came to know about this, he came to kill Nawab but due to his nonsense behavior, Nawab and his two servants Sheikhu and Pheikhu always make fool of Mirza with their ideas.
Nawab’s wife who is big English maniac but when she speaks English she always spell wrong words which make Nawab embarrassed every time.
Meantime, Nawab’s father in law comes to his house for some research where he informs about the two injection possessed by him. One was which converts old man to young and another was which converts a man into woman. Nawab tried to get one injection as he wanted to be young but all his efforts go waste. Later, under a confusion Nawab takes another injection that converts him into a woman and this makes everyone stunned.
The artists who performed in the play included Aaditya Bhanu as Nawab, Ritu as Nawab’s wife, Dilshad Shazi, as Sheikhu, Mohit Sharma as Pheikhu, Pawan Sharma as Mirza, Ashish Bhat as Mirza’s son, Vinay Dagger as Damad, Sahil Singh as Chhui Mui, Rishab Manhas as Sansani, Irfan Bano as Beti, Sanjay Sonkar as Sasur and Anil Bhat as Dost.
The lights were executed by Varun Sharma and music was handled by Sushil Raina, make up by Ritu while costumes and properties were taken care by Irfana Bano. The vote of thanks was made by Shashi Bhushan.
