JAMMU, Apr 8: Natrang’s team London mesmerised the audiences here today at Police Auditorium, Jammu with its highly acclaimed presentation ‘Celebrating Diversity’ designed and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur.
This internationally traveled presentation was hosted by the Central University of Jammu which was graced by Prof Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor of the University as Chief Guest. Aimed at showcasing the unique aspects of the cultural strengths of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, this professionally conceptualized and devised presentation kept the audience spellbound through highly energetic performances of the artists who have already won laurels at the historic Trafalgar Square, London.
This was the same team which created history for the country for being the first to perform in both the houses of British Parliament. Natrang Director Balwant Thakur devised this exclusive bouquet of the diverse cultural colors in one presentation with a vision to promote the unification and the cultural co-existence of the people of the State. Natrang’s presentation ‘Celebrating Diversity’ is a unique cultural album of Jammu and Kashmir showcasing the variegated variety of different colors, rhythms, costumes, design patterns and artistic expressions through the dances of J&K. Starting with vibrant Kashmiri ‘Rouf’, the programme transports the audiences to a most rejoicing journey of Jammu and Kashmir, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari, Bhadarwahi and Ladakhi cultures.
The programme culminated through the presentation of a mega performance ‘Unity in diversity of J&K’, exclusively designed and composed to portray the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The artists who stole the show included Rakesh Kumar, Sunny Mujoo, Ankush Bhasin, Anil Sharma, Nikhil Manhas, Deepali Sharma, Shazia Batool, Saloni Verma, Khushi, Simran Kaur, Geetanjali Khajuria and Jyoti Kumari.
