JAMMU, Jan 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has directed all departments, PSUs and educational institutions to celebrate National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2026, with the theme “My India, My Vote.”
As per the instructions issued by the General Administration Department, events such as debates, discussions and competitions including drawing, painting, essay writing and cultural activities will be organised in schools and colleges to promote voter awareness.
The Election Commission of India has advised that programmes be held at 11 in the morning or at any suitable time during the day, while in areas where January 24 and 25 are holidays, celebrations may be held on January 23.
Officers and officials will also administer the National Voters’ Day pledge, and photographs of the events will be shared on official social media platforms using the hashtag NVD2026.
Meanwhile, the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners have been asked to ensure strict compliance with the directions and to ensure meaningful celebrations across the Union Territory.
