JAMMU, Feb 6: The two days national seminar on “Bhartiya Bodh : Reviving Indian Knowledge System for Modern Education” organized by the IQAC of Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu in collaboration with Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shikshan Sansthan (VBUSS), was concluded here today.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu (CUJ), whose academic guidance and leadership played a vital role in shaping the event.
The event concluded with a valedictory session, graced by Prof Amit Kauts, GNDU, Amritsar, as chief guest, who underscored the importance of reviving Indian Knowledge Systems to strengthen the moral, cultural and intellectual foundations of modern education.
Guest of Honour Prof Asit K Mantry, Professor & Head, Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu, appreciated the academic depth and relevance of the seminar.
He deliberated on the significance of integrating Bhartiya Gyan Parampara with contemporary Education and also shared his reflections on the role of culturally rooted education in shaping socially responsible citizens.
Dr Jyoti Parihar, principal, of the college congratulated the organizers, faculty members and all participants who presented their papers.
Dr Mohd Zubair Kales, Dean, School of Teacher Education, Cluster University of Jammu acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, dignitaries and all participants for making the event grand success.
The seminar was convened by Dr Rajinder Kour and Dr Rakesh Bharti (Government College of Education) respectively, under the guidance of Prof J N Baliya, DoES, CU Jammu whose efforts ensured the smooth organization and scholarly rigor of the event.
His mentorship helped in bringing together the experts on IKS for this seminar.
The second day of the seminar began with technical sessions, chaired by Deans of the constituent Colleges of Cluster University of Jammu where students, scholars and teacher educators presented their research papers on diverse themes related to Indian epistemology.
Plenary session, which formed the academic highlight of the day graced by the thoughtful insights of eminent speakers Prof J N Baliya, Professor, Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu, Prof Renu Nanda, Department of Education, University of Jammu and Prof Deepa Kauts, GNDU, Amritsar and Prof Ajay K Singh delivered insightful lectures.
The event was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Sonam Gandotra.
Best paper awards were also given by Ashley Mehta, from SRM Constructions Limited.
She presented the Best paper award trophies to Dr Abhimanyu Dev Billawaria and Dr Santosh Kumar Yadav.
