MENDHAR, Nov 4: A national integration tour organized by a Rashtriya Rifle Battalion Romeo Force for girls of Nari Niketan, Mendhar, under Sadbhavana initiative, was flagged in here today.
The seven-day tour, which started on October 28 and comprised of 24 girls and one lady teacher of Nari Niketan, Mendhar, visited Jammu, Amritsar and Chandigarh, returned back to Mendhar today.
The aim of the tour was to give girl students a wider exposure to other states of the country and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage that our country has to offer and also to expose them to its scientific and technological progress.
In addition to sightseeing, the tour has motivated the children to excel in their studies and educate them about the avenues and opportunities available to them.
During the tour, the students visited Wagah Crossing, Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Pushpa Gujral Science City, in Amritsar and Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. They also got an opportunity to go to Alpha One Mall, Elante Mall and Fun City entertainment park at Chandigarh during the trip.
