RAJOURI, Feb 13: Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri marked a significant academic milestone with the successful inauguration of the two-day National Conference cum Workshop “Antaradrishti-2026 – Bridging Science, Sensitivity & Service in Women’s Health.”
Organized by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in collaboration with the Jammu Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society (JOGS), the conference brought together distinguished national faculty, clinicians, academicians, and healthcare professionals to deliberate upon contemporary advancements and innovations in women’s healthcare.
The Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) AS Bhatia, Principal GMC Rajouri, who served as chief guest for the occasion. The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr RC Sharma (president JOGS), Prof (Dr) Chander Sheikher (Professor & Head, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Dr Shamim Ahmed (Medical Superintendent AH GMC Rajouri), Dr Shafiqa Bano (secretary JOGS), Brig Poonam Rai (Commandant 150 GH Rajouri), Dr Jamil-Ul-Hussain (HoD Medicine), and invited national experts Dr Divyesh Shukla and Dr Shilpi Shukla, Directors of Isha Hospital, Vadodara.
Delivering the inaugural address, Prof (Dr) AS Bhatia underscored the critical role of continuous medical education in enhancing clinical competency, promoting evidence-based practice, and ensuring quality healthcare services, particularly in evolving fields such as minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and reproductive medicine.
The academic sessions reflected a multidisciplinary approach, featuring expert lectures on advanced surgical techniques, technological integration, and emerging trends in women’s healthcare.
