LEH, Feb7: Tsewang Ishey, President of the Nambardar Association (NA) Nubra, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), here today.
During the meeting, Tsewang Ishey apprised the LG of the vacant posts of Block Development Officers (BDOs) in Panamik, Diskit and Turtuk blocks of Nubra sub-division.
Tsewang also sought the LG’s assistance in expediting the conduct of the Panchayat elections to ensure the efficient functioning of the rural development department.
He highlighted the issues concerning the telecommunication services in Nubra Sub-Division.
In response, the LG stated that formalities related to the Panchayat elections are currently in process and assured that the concerns regarding improving telecommunication connectivity will be reviewed and resolved at the earliest.
Advisor to the LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal and Commissioner/Secretary Dr L Franklin, were also present during the meeting.
