UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: The Narsingh Seva Kendra, located in the central area of Khoon village in Majalta Tehsil of Udhampur district, celebrated its third foundation day on Sunday.
The chief guest on the occasion was RSS North Zone Sanghchalak Pawan Jindal. The event was presided over by NHPC Salal Project Executive Director Anish Gauraha, while Director of the Agriculture Department Anil Gupta attended as the guest of honour. The keynote speaker was Rupesh Kumar, senior Pracharak and member of the RSS All India Executive Committee.
In his address, Rupesh Kumar elaborated on the core philosophy and establishment of Narsingh Seva Kendra. He emphasized that this is perhaps the first project of its kind in Jammu & Kashmir where employment, education, and cultural values are being provided together. He further highlighted the center’s aim to develop surrounding villages into “milk villages” to make farmers self-reliant and ensure they fully benefit from the initiative.
Rupesh Kumar added that society should not reach a point where it needs to build Gaushalas, old-age homes, or orphanages; instead, cows should be cared for in homes, and the elderly should be respected and served within families.
Chief guest Pawan Jindal, in his address, highlighted India’s ancient culture and stressed the importance of family values. He expressed concern that nuclear families are affecting proper upbringing of children. He also pointed out that migration from villages to cities for employment has been a long-standing issue, but initiatives like Narsingh Seva Kendra can offer meaningful solutions. He appealed to people to contribute a portion of their income to support such centers.
Earlier, Vice Presidents of Narsingh Seva Kendra, Sunil Badyal and Chain Singh, reaffirmed the trust’s vision of developing the center into a model for integrated rural development in J&K.
The stage proceedings were jointly conducted by Vijay Gupta and Raman Suri. On this occasion, a cultural presentation was given by students of the Vedic school run at the center. A special Vedic Havan was also performed.
