Narcotics smugglers arrested

SAMBA, July 25: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, District Police Samba has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered about 4.5 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari-Brahmana.
A police party of PS Bari-Brahmana led by SHO, PS, Bari Brahmana, Inspector, Rakesh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Shivali Kotwal while performing patrolling duty, intercepted a lady and a man roaming under suspicious circumstances near SaroreAdda Gujjar Basti, Bari-Brahmna.
During frisking of the lady by police personnel, approximately four grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance wrapped in a white coloured transparent polythene along with cash of Rs 1000 was recovered from her possession and 0.5 grams of Heroin wrapped in a light yellow coloured transparent polythene recovered from male’s possession.
Both the accused have been arrested and contraband items have also been seized.
The arrested accused has been identified as Manohar Lal alias Mintu son of ShambuLal of Saroon, Katra, district Reasi and lady name withheld of Sarore Adda Gujjar Basti, Bari Brahmana district Samba.
In this regard, a case FIR No 137/2022 U/S 8/21/22/27 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari-Brahmana and investigation started.
