Narco-smuggler’s vehicle attached, 3 other drug peddlers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Nov 5: Continuing its sustained drive against narco-criminals, Udhampur Police has attached another vehicle worth Rs 12 lakh belonging to a drug peddler besides arresting three drug peddlers.
During the investigation of case FIR No. 114/2025 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal, it was found that the accused Abdul Wahid son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Garnai, Udhampur, had acquired a vehicle bearing registration number JK14J-9447 from proceeds of narcotic trade.
Accordingly, the said vehicle has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act for further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Police team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Majalta Abdul Star and during patrolling near Manwal Morh, stopped one person moving from Manwal towards Battal and recovered 5 grams of heroin from his possession. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar son of Mohan Lal resident of Kathar Manwal, Dansal, Jammu.
In another case at Battal, Police intercepted a load carrier auto (JK14K-2131) coming from Mansar towards Battal and recovered 4.2 grams of heroin from driver Rajinder Kumar, son of Shiv Ram, resident of Thalora Manwal
Accordingly, FIR No. 87/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Majalta.
Another drug peddler was held with heroin at Tikri. During traffic checking duty, Police stopped a blue-coloured scooty bearing registration number JK19-7667 coming from Jammu towards Udhampur. On checking, the scooty rider disclosed his identity as Kazim Ashraf son of Mohd Ashraf resident of Near Old Bus Stand, Bhaderwah, District Doda. During his personal search, 7.18 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
