SAMBA, July, 17: Continuing its drive against the narcotics smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, has arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered approximately 250 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
A police party of PS Vijaypur led by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Priyanka Kumari intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number PB07Z/ 8370 at Naka AIIMS NHW, Vijaypur.
While checking, approximately 250Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance in 11 plastic sacks were recovered from the truck.
The accused person identified as Jatinder Singh, son of Raghubir Singh of Hoshiarpur, Punjab has been arrested on the spot and the contraband item along with vehicle were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 103/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and further investigation started.
