JAMMU, Sept 19: SMVD Narayana Hospital organised a one day free medical and eye check-up camp in collaboration with Sri Hari Prabhu Sanstha at Gujru Nagrota, Ramkot.
During the camp, 260 patients hailing from remote and hilly areas of Billawar, Mahajalta, Ramkot and adjoining villages were examined and diagnosed.
Out of these, 120 eye patients were checked up by Dr. Karitika, Eye Specialist and 24 patients were identified for cataract surgery which will be performed free of cost at Narayana Hospital on September 24, 2025. Other patients were checked-up by Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Physician.
Apart from the distribution of free medicines, eye drops, other facilities like BP and blood sugar testing were also available in the camp.
The eye drops and medicines distributed during the camp were sponsored by P.N Jalla, a senior member of the Sanstha.
Sanstha also distributed free eye glasses among 35 eye patients who were found having low eye vision by the technical staff of Optho Department.
Sanstha general secretary, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, secretary, K.L Gupta, Sarita Sharma, Manager and Romesh Gupta coordinated with doctors and patients to make the camp successful.
