JAMMU, Dec 15: A grand function in connection with “celebrating the legacy of Guru’s Grace and Shishya’s Devotion,” and community service- the Nand Bub Heritage Mahotsava, was held today at Abhinav Theatre here, today.
The event, brought together dignitaries, artists, and devotees in a soulful tribute to the Guru-Shishya tradition.
The function commenced with a traditional Pushp Arpan by the esteemed dignitaries, followed by welcome address by Rohit Bhat, Director of Vomedh. A major highlight of the evening was the official release of a new devotional Bhajan dedicated to Bub Ji.
The beautifully penned lyrics by Chuni Tickoo were brought to life by the melodious voices of lead singers Vishal Pandita and Harshita Pandita, with chorus support from Diksha Pandita and Vineet Raina. The music was composed and directed by Dr. Kuldeep Raina Sudeshi, with recording by Rahul Bhardwaj. The entire team behind the Bhajan received an Award of Appreciation for their divine contribution.
On the occasion prestigious Nand Bub Samman was conferred upon individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the community. The honourees included senior JKAS officers K K Sidha, Dr. Arvind Karwani, and Dr. Riyaz Ahmed. Others who were honoured included B L Bhat, chairperson of Nagdandi Ashram; Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA), received by Sunil Thusoo; The Avanti Foundation, received by Radha Nath Khar; and several grassroots organizations including Team AMEAK (Sanjay Koul and others), KP Volunteers (Vikram Koul and team), NOPRUF (Rajesh Sharma and team), and KP Helping Hand (Ashesh Ganjoo, Sunny Raina, Rakesh Kumar and team).
The Swami Chaman Lal Bamzai Seva Samman was conferred upon the Kashmiri Medical Emergency & Charitable Trust (KMECT), an award received by Sunil Thusoo on their behalf.
Bhavna Pandita, advisor to Vomedh, announced that the Nand Bub Heritage Mahotsava will be expanded into a grand three-day annual festival in the coming years.
The cultural segment of the evening was a mesmerizing Bhajan Sandhya. The lineup featured exceptional performances by renowned artists including Assad Anjum, from Kashmir, Ram Krishan Kitchloo, Abhinav Bharti, Barbie, and Rishab Dorjee. All participating singers and musicians were felicitated with traditional shawls as a mark of respect and appreciation.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Bharti Kaul.
