JAMMU, Feb 4: A Dogri Desh Bhakti Kavi Goshti was organized by Nami Dogri Sanstha, Jammu at Vishavkarma Sabha, Bakshi Nagar, here today.
Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, senior BJP leader and Chairman ‘Tawi Bachao Andolan’ was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Nidhi Dogra Sharma, patron Dogra Samaj Trust, Mumbai was the special guest on this occasion. Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, Advocate, J&K High Court presided over the programme.
Earlier, Captain Lalit Sharma, convener, NDS, welcoming the guests and the poets, gave a brief of the aims & objectives, and ongoing activities of Nami Dogri Sanstha. Bouquets were presented to the guests by Dogra Harish Kaila and Anupama Sharma, executives of NDS. Yash Pal Yash, general secretary, NDS introduced the poets.
The poetry based on different hues of patriotism, were presented by the well known poets of the region. The poets who recited their poetry in Dogri, included: Chanchal Dogra, Narinder Singh Chib, T R Magotra, Aarsh Om Dalmotra, Neha Sharma, Madan Magotra, Abdul Qadir Kundria, Rajni Thappa, Sunaina Kaila Anand, Om Vidyarthi, Dr Mulkh Raj Bhamagi, K R Sathi Salgotra, Jang S Verman, B S Jamwal, Parvinder Singh Apple, Randhir Raipuria, Neelam Mohtra, Capt Lalit Sharma, Yash Pal Yash and Wing Commander Deepak Dogra.
In his presidential address, Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed said that Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila has been always eager to come up for the upliftment of the needy and for the cause of the community.
Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest said that he will stand by Nami Dogri Sanstha for the support to start Dogri Sattelite Channel.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by film, TV, Stage actor and radio artist Veena Dogra.
