Nagrota police felicitated for solving job fraud

JAMMU, Aug 11: Nagrota Police were felicitated today for cracking a major job fraud case, leading to the recovery and return of Rs 1.53 crores to 22 victims.
A statement said this was the first of its kind case solved by Police Station Nagrota under the new criminal laws, with provisions of section 107 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita invoked.
It said a felicitation ceremony, attended by around 200-250 citizens, was held in Nagrota, where the police team, including SP Rural Jammu Brijesh Sharma, SDPO Nagrota Vinod Kundal, and SHO Nagrota Inspector Parvaiz, was honoured by Devyani Rana and prominent locals.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Rural Jammu thanked the public for their support, saying such recognition boosts morale and encourages police personnel to work harder.
Devyani Rana praised the team’s proactive approach in bringing the accused to justice and ensuring the victims received their money.
Residents also commended the swift action and professionalism of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, stressing the importance of public cooperation in tackling fraud and crime.
