NEW DELHI, Sept 6: Nagaland is fast ushering in an era of development with peace and the difference will be seen soon as a result of the impact of Modi Government’s special impetus on peripheral States of Northeast.
This was stated here today by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh at a meeting with the team of Nagaland State BJP office bearers led by State BJP President, Visasolie Lhoungu, who called on him here today.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, peace and development share a reciprocal relationship. Whenever there is disruption in peace, the development activities also get adversely affected. At the same time, he said, when the development is optimum, it reinforces prosperity and peace with a little room for unrest and disenchantment.
Referring to a number of new projects initiated in the State of Nagaland during the last 2 years, Dr Jitendra Singh said, most of the pending road projects have been put on fast track. He said, peace has returned to the State and gradually there has been relative peace in the recent times and people of the State are looking forward to be the beneficiaries of the enormous development activities in the region.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, through the DoNER Ministry, attempts have been made to encourage youth engagements in skill development and employment generation. He said, the State is blessed with several exclusive attributes in the areas of art and garments which are also being promoted at different levels and of late, an exclusive stall has been set up in Dilli Haat at New Delhi.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, Nagaland has a Government which is working in coalition with BJP and it is the responsibility of the BJP team to work with the State Ministry in close coordination and collaboration.
The BJP leaders also discussed with Dr Jitendra Singh several organisational matters and the current political scenario in the State.
Other senior State leaders of the BJP who were present at the meeting included K. James Vizo, Tsasepi Sangtam, Eduzu Theluo, Mahesh Kotecha, H. K. Khulu, V.S.Baweja, Vihoshe Sumi and Yanghose Sangtam.
