JAMMU, July 11: NABARD Rajasthan Regional Office today celebrated its 44th Foundation Day based on the theme Fostering Rural Enterprises for Inclusive Growth in Jaipur.
The occasion was graced by esteemed presence of Dr Rajiv Siwach, Chief General Manager, NABARD Rajasthan Regional Office and M Anil, GM-convenor, SLBC.
Dr Rajiv in his address highlighted NABARD’s journey since its inception in 1982 and emphasized on NABARD’s role in shaping India’s rural economy through a combination of refinance support, infrastructure development, policy advocacy and institutional strengthening.
He informed that during 2024-25, financial assistance of Rs 22400.35 crore was provided in the State through State Government/Corporations, Scheduled Banks, Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks for undertaking various activities for the transformation of agriculture and rural economy.
“Banks were provided refinance assistance of Rs 17405 crore which included Rs 17070.92 crore for short term and Rs 333.82 crore for asset creation through long term operations,” he said.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NABARD and Bank of Baroda, aimed at enhancing rural credit delivery.
The MoU will facilitate seamless financial access for Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), thereby strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship and collective farming models.
M Anil in his address acknowledged the structural challenges faced by rural enterprises, such as limited access to credit, market linkages and skilled manpower and called for a “credit-plus” approach that includes digital empowerment, skill development and mentorship. Rural credit of Rs 25.00 lakhs each was also disbursed to 02 FPOs on this occasion.
Two booklets viz. NABARD in Rajasthan 2024-25 and Unit Cost Booklet 2025-26 were also launched on this occasion.
The event was also attended by Sanjay Pathak, MD, RStCB, MDs of various DCCBs, District Development Managers of NABARD and representatives of various PACS and FPOs.
