JAMMU, Sept 18: To explore the hidden talent of the youth of the State, SY Step Up Dance Institute and Nirvana Academy organized “Dance Addiction 3” at the auditorium of Government Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk today.
The function started with a Dogri folk group dance choreographed by Sanjeev Magotra and Yogeshwar Singh Yogi, followed by marvelous dance performances by the children of all ages.
On the occasion, Hitesh Badyal, president, Nirvana Academy and Deepshikha Kotwal, Principal, Trikuta Deep School, were the guest of honour, whereas, Ravi Sharma, internationally acclaimed folk dance Choreographer and Ruby, dance teachers, were the jury members, who adjudged the performance of the participants on the basis of their performance and attire.
Speaking on the occasion, Hitesh Badyal, informed the gathering, that the programme was organized with an aim to explore the hidden talent of the youth of the State, so that they can compete with the other talented youth of the country.
“In the dance addiction, 30 items including solo, junior/senior/ duet and group were performed by around 80 participants from various schools and institutes”, Badyal said, adding, that youth from Vijaypur and Samba also participated in the programme.
Momentoes/ certificates were presented to all the participants by guest of honours and other personalities.
The programme was conceived and directed by the young team of SY Step Up Dance Institute including Yogeshwar Singh Yogi and Sanjeev Mangotra, while, the programme was compared by Akansha Gupta.
Among others present were Meenakshi Sharma, general secretary, Nishant Vaid, secretary, and Publicity, Ajay, Manish, Anil, Sunil and Vipul.
Winners in different categories were: Solo Junior- 1st Prize Danish (BSF School), 2nd Prize Prachi (BSF School), 3rd Prize Yuvraj (BSF School), Consulation Award – Harsh (Trikuta Deep High School), Deepika (Trikuta Deep High School), VanshPreet (Jazz’n Caz Dance Institute). Solo Senior- 1st Prize Kashish, 2nd Prize Rajat (St. Xavier Convent School), 3rd Prize Himanshu(Trikuta Deep High School), Consolation Prize Simran (Jaz’n Caz). Duet Dance- 1st Prize Kiran and Harsh(Trikuta Deep High School), 2nd Prize Sidharth and Rajat (Trikuta Deep High School), 3rd Prize Rohit and Deepika (Trikuta Deep School), Consolation Prize- Rajan and Mohit (Gurukul Dance Institute), Himanik and Naman (St. Xavier Convent School). Group dance- 1st Prize BSF School Group and 2nd Prize Trikuta Deep School Group Janipur.
