Jammu, Mar 26: A mysterious explosion occurred late tonight in Poonch district but there was no report of any injury.
The blast was reported in a lane adjacent to a religious place in the vicinity of district hospital in Poonch town around 11.15 pm, causing panic among the locals, the officials said.
Police and Army personnel along with forensic experts rushed to the scene and are investigating the nature of the blast.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the blast was apparently caused by hurling of a Chinese grenade by suspected terrorists, the officials said.
They said the whole area has been cordoned off and senior officers are on the spot.
