MWA organizes ‘Tree Talk’ to save trees

JAMMU, June 9: To aware the masses about ‘Health is Wealth’ and to save the trees a ‘Tree Talk’ organized by the Morning Walkers Association (MWA) Lohar Manda was held here today.
The event was held under the Chairmanship of Sudershan Gupta at Wazir Point.
O P Sharma, member J&K Biodiversity council, member J&K Wildlife board and well known Tree Talk founder was the chief guest, Vijay Kumar, DFO Wild life Jammu-Udhampur and Prof Vijay Chandan were the guest of honours.
Speaking on the occasion, O P Sharma delivered talk on trees seen in Ramnagar Wildlife sanctuary Jammu.
He elaborated cultural, Medicinal, Mythological and Ayurvedic significance of prominent trees including Amaltas, Dhaak, False Quninine trees, Parijat, Amla, Bahera, Harad, Pilkhan and Khair trees.
Dr Gopal Sharma, regional director, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Ban-Talab Jammu, highlighted new initiatives of Ayush Ministry.
He also stated that the World Environment Day also marked as World Ocean Day and connectivity of oceans with climate change.
Vijay Kumar highlighted the awareness to save the wild animal as they are also part and parcel of this universe as the human being.
He also stressed for plantation of plants in the coming rainy season especially stressed for PIPAL-1 and Bargad Plants.
Rakesh Kumar Sharma, general secretary of MWA detailed that the walk along the Manda Tracl and via High Court towards Lohar-Manda hill top.
He said, “Morning walk is very good for health as breathing fresh air while passing through Botanical trees of Manda Jungle is also beneficial for health.”
Bansi Lal Choudhary, president of the association made a request to Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to link this walking Track to Lakkar Mandi (Paccka Track), which is a Kacha track.
Among others who were present during the event included Sham Lal Sharma, Sham Lal Dogra, Susheel Gupta, Manohar Lal Gupta, Romesh Kumar Gupta, Ashwani Sharma, Sanjay Sanotra, Pawan Sharma, Ashok Gupta, Neelam Kumari, Aryaveer Choudhary, Vani Choudhary and Romesh Gupta.
