Jammu, Dec. 20: Riding on magnificent half-centuries by Muskan and Diva, Jammu Princess and Kolkata Flamingo got the better of their rivals Punjab Birds and Mumbai Mermaids respectively in the ongoing Chief Minister’s T20 Premier League, being jointly organized by State Sports Council and J&K Police HG/CD/SDRF at Parade ground, here.
Shafkat Wattali, IGP Armed was the chief guest in the first match, while Ramesh Angral, SSP Security was the chief guest in the second match.
The chief guests were introduced with the participating teams in the presence of Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and other dignitaries.
Earlier, in the first match Kolkata Flamingo defeated Mumbai Mermaids by 14 runs. Batting first, Kolkata scored 122 runs. Diva top scored with 54 runs, while Elizabeth contributed 17 runs to the total. From bowling side, Pooja, Soni and Sandhya shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Mumbai Mermaids managed to score 108 runs. Rahila (26), Rubina (23) and Varsha (14) were the main contributors. From bowling side, Sapna took 2 wickets while Shabnam, Anjali and Navina claimed 1 wicket each. Diva was adjudged as the woman of the match.
In another match, Jammu Princess defeated Punjab Birds by 33 runs.
Batting first, Jammu Princess scored 135 runs in 20 overs. Muskan was the top scorer with 52 runs, while Neena and Rubina contributed 29 and 18 runs respectively. From Bowling side, Reena took 2 wickets. Punjab Birds made 102 runs for 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 33 runs. Shallu and Reena contributed 33 and 29 runs. Nadia took 3 wickets, while Sarla bagged 2 and Puja claimed 1 wicket. Muskan was declared as women of the match.
