Murtaza is Young Journalists Association Kupwara president

KUPWARA, Jan 9: The Young Journalists Association Kupwara (YJAK), here today, under the supervision of Information Officers, held its yearly general body election for 2026-28.
As per a handout, Murtaza Mushtaq of API was elected as the president while Wasim Majnoon Mir, Editor-in-Chief of Kupwara Times was elected as chairman.
Javid Ahmad Mir of Daily Heaven Mail was elected as vice-president, Sagar Rafiq of Nida-e-Kashmir, general secretary and Tariq Ahmad Lone of Daily Roshni as spokesperson.
The meeting unanimously decided to rename ‘Young Journalist Association Kupwara’ as ‘Media Association Kupwara (MAK)’.
The newly elected president thanked all the working journalists for holding free and fair elections and vowed to help them in solving grievances of locals and issued an appeal to the people to contact ‘Media Association Kupwara’ in case of their genuine grievances. As many as 16 members participated in the election process.
