Murder bid foiled, notorious criminal nabbed

JAMMU, Nov 1: Police foiled murder bid with the arrest of a notorious criminal along with sharp edged weapon (toka) from Sheikh Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bagh-e-Bahu police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station raised a naka near Sheikh Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered a sharp edged weapon (toka) from his possession and nabbed him.
The accused has been identified as Aashish Sharma alias Dana, son of Som Nath Sharma, a resident of Janipur Colony.
During preliminary investigation it came to fore that the accused had some old rivalry with a person and was going to eliminate him, but his nefarious designs were thwarted by the police.
A case under FIR Number 77/15 under Section 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and further investigation into the case is going on.
During further investigation, it came to notice that the accused was also involved in various cases registered under FIR numbers 92/12 under Section 452, 323, 148 and 149 RPC and 42/14 under Section 307, 147, 148 and 120-B RPC registered with Bagh-e-Bahu police station.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu police station Inspector Ravinder Singh Rakwal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Shahzad Ahmad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
