JAMMU, Sept 11: Municipal & Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association (MULBPA) today accused the Jammu Municipal Corporation for discriminating with its employees/pensioners while issuing notices for vacating residential accommodations/flats allotted to them
Addressing a meeting of the Association, MULBPA president B S Jamwal and general secretary B D Verma lambasted the JMC authorities to serve notices to the employees/pensioners in a pick and choose manner. They said that adopting biased attitude the JMC has served 30 days notices to some employees/pensioners and not bothered to serve notices to other well wisher allottees holding residential/commercial accommodation who have sublet (sold) their accommodation illegally after taking huge amount from them.
Jamwal and Verma said that the concerned Revenue Section Officers of the JMC are sitting like mute spectator and never bothered to check whether the actual allottees are in possession of the Municipal property. “It is a big scam and needs proper verification by an outsider agency,” they said and demanded the JMC to stop step motherly treatment with employees and withdraw its notices immediately.
Besides, they urged the LG Manoj Sinha to issue orders for enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month in favour of J&K employees/pensioners at par with Central and other UTs Government employees, saying it is not justified to withhold medical allowance enhancement by UT administration without any reason. They also appealed the Prime Minister to revoke DA freezing orders keeping in view the unbearable rising prices of essential commodities.
